Wow, so being lazy is turning out much better than I thought. With very little work, I’ve managed to get a bunch more stuff working the way I want. Notice the header, the rearranged order of the sidebar; and the inclusion of a nonstandard page link in my “pages” section. But yeah, being lazy is awesome. I’m blogging more, my pictures are organized better, and for the first time, my pictures and blogs can actually be linked fully. I should have done this long ago.
And oh yeah, spam is gone. *smiles*
I’ve said it once, and I’ll say it again, big ups to ‘Tos for convincing me to switch.

My comment spam program owns you. Seriously. You might as well just go home. 95 of your comments have gotten caught.

Prepping old blog for importation: $0 x 2 hours

Taking my website back from the spammers: Priceless

So it’s been a few weeks since I switched to WordPress, and already, I’m very happy I did. Making posts is easier and faster. I’m actually seeing comments that are left. Oh, and the built in spam filter has already caught 5 bits of comment spam.
I’m also getting some other benefits. I’m linked into Technocrati now, which is actually pretty neat. I wonder if I’m going to start getting more hits from random people as I discuss more stuff about work and technology. (Especially once Groove and it’s components ship)
Anyway, I’m pretty happy with the results. Big thanks to ‘Tos for convincing me to become a slacker and enjoy life. (ie convincing me to switch to WordPress.

I just fixed the posts that were causing the feed to break. Thinks should be back to normal now. Sorry about that.

Ok, so after all of the work I’ve put in to updating this site, spammers may force me to scrap my custom solution and go with a more proven solution. Man, I hate this. I hate this idea of comment spamming. People using my comments to increase their pageranks. God I hate this.
Part of me would welcome it. I’d have less to have to maintain. And that would be cool. But I would no longer get to talk about how I built my blog system. Part of me really hates that. I’ve worked on for a while.
But man, a nicer looking blog might be cool. I think I will have to think more about it. Of course, I say this now, and it would be a while before I could get to it. Seeing as how things in my personal life really don’t allow for me to make those kinds of changes right now.
StillÉnot cool.
