PTF: This shirt used to fit differently

December 6th, 2006

As the title implies, my cloths have started to have a different feeling. It’s actually kind of fun. I put on cloths and think, this didn’t use to be like this. Sweet.

So yeah working out has been good for me. I’m looking better; feeling better and generally just enjoying the sensation of working out. But yeah, it’s been five good months of working out, and I’m not stopping.

Colbert = Teh Funny

December 6th, 2006

I’ve just started watching the Colbert Report and these two quotes were sad last night (I’m watching off of DVR).

From “The Word”:

You’ll be placed on a reservation somewhere in the United States, but not in America

The tag line on screen: Massachusetts (Brilliant!)

And on the Ohio State vs Florida BCS Game:

I couldn’t be happier with this matchup. After all, these schools represent the two states that gave us President George W Bush’s two election victories. It is no wonder that electronic voting put them on top.

So funny.

And I swear, I will be making a real post soon. I promise.

He chose…wisely

November 2nd, 2006

I read this on ESPN just now, and all I can think is how good of a choice this is.

Ow…I forgot about this part

October 31st, 2006

So remember when I said I was looking to get back into martial arts? Well, I had my first Kung Fu class last night. And all in all, things went well. I enjoyed the class and I got a good workout. And I didn’t feel to sore afterwards.

Then I woke up this morning. Oy, I am sore. I’m more sore in one hour of Kung Fu than I was after a full day of marching with the band. I actually didn’t go full out with my workout today. I just did some light riding on a stationary bike with some moderate stretching.

So yeah, Kung Fu was fun. I’m going to give it a couple more weeks before I commit, but for now, it’s fun. And it’s a seriously good workout.

As a side note, while walking towards the T from the dojo (I need to look up the chinese word for training hall), I ran into my uddy Rob Anderson, which was pretty cool. We grabbed dinner and caught up. So yeah, pretty fun overall. I just need to be less sore.

PTF: Status Update

October 30th, 2006

So it would seem that my Path to Fitness posts have kind of dried up. Which, if I hadn’t gotten myself into a pretty steady workout routine, would have defeated there intended purpose. But yeah, I’m fully into a workout habit.

So have I seen any progress? Yes and no. As I said earlier, I’m definitely feeling the effects. I’m clearly in better shape than I was when I started back in July. I’m sore less often. My joints all hurt less. And I generally feel better.

At the same time, I still don’t look the way I want to. I’m getting there, and I can see the beginings, but I’m still not as cut as I’d like to be. *shrugs*

At least there is progress, so I can’t complain too much. :)
