Colbert = Teh Funny

December 6th, 2006

I’ve just started watching the Colbert Report and these two quotes were sad last night (I’m watching off of DVR).

From “The Word”:

You’ll be placed on a reservation somewhere in the United States, but not in America

The tag line on screen: Massachusetts (Brilliant!)

And on the Ohio State vs Florida BCS Game:

I couldn’t be happier with this matchup. After all, these schools represent the two states that gave us President George W Bush’s two election victories. It is no wonder that electronic voting put them on top.

So funny.

And I swear, I will be making a real post soon. I promise.

Yes, They are that good

October 2nd, 2006

So last week, there was a lot of talk about Ohio State not being that good. A lot of people were saying, “any team could surprise them.” Penn State kept it close for three quarters, and suddenly, OSU wasn’t a flat out number one. Clearly, USC or Aubern could be just as good as them. What had OSU done to deserve being number one? Besides going into the (then) number 2 (and defending national championa’s) team’s house and crushed them. They beat a ranked Penn State team. They held the leading rusher in the country (Garret Wolfe) to fewer yards than anyone else. Nope, not good enough. They aren’t crushing teams like USC and Texas did. (We’ll convienetly forget how week their respective conferences have become)

Then Saturday’s 38-17 spanking of Iowa happened.

Suddenly, all of the hating stopped. And about damn time. Now no one can stop OSU. They are clearly the best team in the country. Their offense is the most explosive. Their defense is fast, oppertunistic, and devestating. (What about losing 9 starters?) Even special teams is holding their own. (Where did we find this punter from?)

Now the only question left is: Is it fair for Troy Smith to be leader in the Heisman race given that he throws to one of the best recieving corps in America AND he features one of premier running back tandems in the league? Oh, and his offensive line seems to unstoppable. Well, as the leader and heart of the team, yes. Yes he does.

Sweet Sweet Revenge

September 10th, 2006

A year ago, I had to watch Vince Young and the Texas Longhorns come back to beat Ohio State in Columbus. In a close game their leader rose up and rallied them. And from there, it was the National Title for Texas. And it was hard. I had to suck it up. Which was hard given the college football email list at MS.

But today…

Today all of the Texas fans are going to have to just recognize. Today OSU marched into Austin and showed everyone that they are the team to beat. And oh yeah, Smith and his friends put up a 24-7 whooping of the Longhorns.

And it was just a fun day because Spector and Kratville came over. And oh yeah, Kratville is from Texas. A lot of smack was talked, but only one team backed their man up. BOO-YA!!

OH! IO!
