Random Thought from the Bus

July 24th, 2007

Seattle is stupidly pretty during the summer. Especially coming accross lake washington. Defnitely worth living on the West Side. That’s about all I have to say about that.

Ressstful weekend

July 23rd, 2007

How sad is it that I actually refered to this weekend as my “weekend off.” Yeah, I’m probably working a bit too hard, still I’m enjoying what I’m doing, so I can’t complain too much. Regardless, the weekend was pretty good.

I spent Friday night at my buddy Dan’s place. We all hadn’t had a vortex night in a while and it was good to just have a chill night with people. I did drink a bit more than I had planned, but it was nothing too crazy.

Saturday was pretty good. The nerdhouse crew went to the company picnic for the day hours. THe picnic was fun, although, I was pretty tired by the time I got back. After getting back, I accidently started pre-heating my oven with a plastic covered tray still in it…needless to say, I had to leave my apartment for a few hours. (D’oh)

This wasn’t all bad, though, since it lead me to do something I hadn’t done in a while. Drive. Nono, not like commuting to work or seeing a friend, but actually getting my drive on. I basically hopped in my car and decided to just see where the roads took me. The farthest I got was a place called Mt Vernon, Wa which, if you look it up on Live Maps (yay Kool-aid) is pretty close to Canada. I’d been wanting to go on a long drive for a while, and it felt really good. I may take a mini road trip this weekend depending on my feelings. But yeah, I missed road tripping.

Yesterday was a bit chiller. I kind of hung out, cleaned and started organizing the years of bill and mail I have gotten. I’ve kept it all, but I wasn’t very organized about it. So I’m currently going through and sorting everything I need and everything I need to throw away/shred. It’s an interesting look back, but it’s going to take some. *shrugs* At least I still have all this stuff.

So that was my weekend. Not bad, I got stuff done, saw different groups of people. And was able to get something done. I also got a little GH2 in, which was awesome.

I’m Already Excited

July 9th, 2007

Go here. Go now.

This is awesome. Two of my absolutely favorite artists. Together. It’s like the ultimate awesome mashup.

Oh, and I am I even more excited about seeing Daft Punk in concert on the 29th? Only hells yeah.

Yay for Fireworks (And Other Things)

July 9th, 2007

[Side note: I started this a few days ago and just got around to finishing it]

So the past couple of days have been a bit of a rush. Besides being the 4th of July, the night of the 3rd was my friends’, Thais and Rabi’s, wedding. So my past 48 hours have been quite a good time. ^_^

So how was the wedding? In a single word, beautiful. Absolutely beautiful. The ceremony was held at Ray’s boathouse, overlooking the water. There was an amazing sunset going down over the olympic mountains; and the ceremony was touchingly presided over by our friend Deborah. Afterwards, there was a very nice reception.

Following the reception was the after-party. And that was even more fun. Everyone hung out at the Melo-Lahiri residence; much champagne was consumed and general merriment was had by all. Of course, this wasn’t the end. No, the next day, the bride and groom had a post wedding BBQ for everyone. Seriously, it was pretty crazy.

And to cap it all off, a bunch of us went down to Gasworks Park (which I’d never been to before), and saw the fireworks. It wasn’t the biggest I’d seen, but it was still very good.

All in all, it was a pretty good fourth.

New (Fiscal) Year’s Resolutions

July 2nd, 2007

I will blog more. Seriously. I’m still alive. I’m still blogging. I’ve just been doing it a lot more privately recently. So, I’m going to try and do a better job of updating. I may lay off the music choice things (that was eating up way too much time and thought). Maybe I’ll just quote what I’m listening to at the moment. Probably better.

Anyway, a lot’s been going on. Although it has mainly been work related. While things have been going well at the office, I’ve definitely been working a lot. My mother has taken to asking me if I ever take time off. Regardless, I still really love what I’m doing. And the people I work with are awesome.

Outside of work, I’ve been having a good time. My nights and weekends have been pretty full, especially with trying to see various friends. I’m really looking forward to the upcoming week. I’ve got Thais and Rabi’s wedding festivities plus my friend Theresea’s birthday party on Saturday. Yeah, it’s pretty crazy.

Hmm, there’s probably more, but I’m having a hard time remembering it. But yes, I am going to update more often.
