Lily Allen: Alright, Still

February 4th, 2007

So right now, I’m listening to Lily Allen’s album, Alright, Still and it definitely going to be one of my guilty pleasure albums. It’s really hard to describe why I like this album. It’s a pop album, clearly, but it unlike a lot of pop albums that try to get you up and dancing, this one really…doesn’t. Alright, Still seems like it’s content with just being listened to while doing something else. I find myself listening to it in the context of it being background music.

And being background music isn’t a bad thing. I can casually listen to this album without being beaten over the head with it. When I tune into it fully, I enjoy it, but it also lets me go about doing my thing. It’s not wonder I discovered this at work and immidiatly enjoyed it. It had me like the techno streams I listen to. It keeps me going, but doesn’t detract.

So yeah, go check the album out. I’m not saying it will be everyone’s cup of tea, but it’s definitely a good album.

My opinions on Boston’s issues with Aqua Teen…

February 2nd, 2007

…can be summed up by this. What makes this jut so dumb, is that these have been up for weeks in Boston. As well as nine other cities. New York City, you know, the place where the WTC towers used to be, didn’t flip out like this. Then again, NYC is also the kind of place that’s building a new WTC that’s even BIGGER, just to show the world they aren’t afraid.

Gaming Hiatus…

February 2nd, 2007

I’m going to be on a bit of a gaming hiatus over this next week. I have at least one interview with a team in Redmond within the next 10 days. I’ve told a few people where I’m interviewing, but I want to keep it on the down low for a bit. This whole situation is covered in irony, which I will go into after said interview.
