The VMA’s

August 31st, 2006

So I’m currently watching the Mtv Video Music Awards and I’m beginning to wonder about music right now. It seems like every video (but who are we kidding, song) I think should win gets brushed aside for some tripe. And I’ve actually been rather disappointed with the live performances. Well, Panic at the Disco was good. Still…pretty poor.

On the other hand…watching the VMA’s in HD? SOOOOO GOOOOD!

Ok…so as I’m typing this, they just presented to Hype Williams. Surprise performances by Busta and Missy? That’s what the VMA’s is supposed to be. Surprise performances by big stars is what I expect. And in HD…it was excellent.

So many games, so little time.

August 31st, 2006

I never thought I would say this, but I may have too many games. Or at least, too many games that I haven’t finished. So what’s the current rundown?

Dead Rising
Killing zombies for fun and profit? This game is really really well done. I have been enjoying it, but it’s not the kind of game I can sit and play mindlessly. I’m moving through it, but I seem to do it in spurts. I definitely plan finishing this one up at least once (it’s made to be played through a bunch of times), but I doubt it will happen before the end of the year. This isn’t necessarily a bad thing, it’s just different. (I tend to play through games till I finish)

N3: Ninety-Nine Nights
It’s like the game Dynasty Warriors. In fact, it might as well be that game. They put thousands of enemies on the screen and allow you to just fell them. It’s mindless, it’s just button mashing, and I literally spent most of last weekend playing it happily. A lot of people have gone on about how it’s game play isn’t good enough, but for my company store price and the amount of relaxation it has brought me, it was worth it. Of course, I’m currently stuck at a part and I have a bit to go, but at least I’m closer to finishing.

So for those playing along at home, that’s two unfinished games.

Enchanted Arms
So just when I think it’s just some action games to get through…an rpg. And a Japanese one at that. I just picked this up but haven’t been able to start it yet. But it should be pretty good, and substantial in length. Not much to say as of yet, as I haven’t started this journey.

So that’s three games for the 360 I’m going to be having to complete. Thankfully there’s a lot of game, since it looks like there isn’t going to be anything coming out in the next month I’m too excited for.

As for my DS, well, it’s been sitting pretty idle these past couple of weeks. I picked up Trauma Center, but it’s not a particularly good for the T so I have really only played it when traveling to St. Louis. Other than that, I’m kind of waiting for some games to finally be released state-side to jump on. It also seems that a lot of the DS games I’m waiting on are all coming out in October. Looks like the month of my birth will be fun.

Car un-trouble

August 30th, 2006

So my car trouble wasn’t that bad. A dead battery that was replaced under warranty was the issue. So I lucked out, which I’m pretty happy about. So yeah, that’s what’s up with that. Go warranties and putting limited milage on my car.

A much needed rest

August 29th, 2006

So I’ve been doing a bit of resting the past couple of days. I called in sick on Friday and actually managed to stay out of the office over the weekend. It was actually really really nice. So what did I do?

Well, most of the weekend was spent napping, eating, hanging out with friends and playing video games. It was awesome.

Saturday night, however, I went down to the Feast of St. Anthony’s down in the North End. Let me just say, that Italians seriously know how to party. I met Nicole and a bunch of our friends in the evening and I proceded to stuff myself with food and enjoy the sites and sounds of the festial. There were young and old people singing and dancing and having a great time. I also discovered Gnochi, which is awesome.

So it’s safe to say I’m feeling better. I was clearly fatigued and needed a good deal of rest. Plus it was really great to go out with my friends. So yeah, it was a good weekend.

A Bit of Car Trouble

August 24th, 2006

Well, for the second time in a month, my car is having problems. This time, my car isn’t starting. I’m not sure why it’s not starting, but I have a feeling something isn’t totaly right. Thankfully Mazda provides 24 hour road side assistance so my car is at the dealership (they paid for towing). I just do’t know when they’ll even get around to checking it out. Awesome! Ok, back to work. Yay…
