PTF Day 4: Up Earlier…eww

July 12th, 2006

So I managed to miss a day already; and it was for a dumb reason. Simply put, I overslept because I forgot to turn on my alarm. D’oh! BUT…I managed to get myself up at 7:15 this morning to make the 8:05 train up to Beverly. If I can keep this up, I can continue to work out in the morning, but yet not have to stay late to get my work done. Sure it means a little less sleep (really only 30 minutes), but the rewards will be worth it. Especially since no one ever seems to want to hang out in the mornings, but they always want to hang out in the evenings.

This is not good

So there is currently a large cloud begining to funnel by my office, and I’m just a bit worried. I’m not so worried about it touching down. I know what to do, I’m just worried about my co-workers. I saw a lot of people who really weren’t too worried about it, or were by the window and didn’t quite get why one needs to open it in case of a tornado.

I guess I take for granted having lived in the midwest, where such storms are “normal.” Years of tornado drills have taught me what to do instinctively. I doubt many of my coworkers have even heard of a tornado drill. It’s not a nock against them, it’s just there aren’t really tornados here.

Which also worries me about the contruction around here. I know that in the midwest, buildings are built to “deal” with tornados. I just don’t know about the East Coast. Hmm…Should be interesting.

Forza Azzurri!!

Itally won! Italy won! And the best part? I was in Boston’s uber-Italian North End. Talk about a party. It was sweet. That’s all i really have to say about that. I will say that Nicole’s brother, Tom, was probably in the only other place in America that would have been as awesome to be at.

So first some Ohio Pride, now some Princeton pride. I love whenever Christ Young pitches because the Sportscenter guys always mention his Ivy League roots. Today it was:

Another good Ohioan

We may not be New York, but we’re damn proud. And to think, he turned down hundreds of millions to stay in Ohio. That’s awesome.
