So I’m back in town, and have been since last night. I’m back a bit earlier than I was expecting, but eh, that’s life. Anway, the trip was good and I’ll talk more about it later in the morning on the train up. But for now, you’ll just have to enjoy the pictures. Oh yeah, my gallery is up and working, guess I should mention that. Click the picture to go to my vacation gallery.

It’s My Vacation, I’ll Run if I want to

July 26th, 2006

So Today I actually got up and ran. I didn’t have that stellar of a run, but I definitely worked up a sweat and got my heart rate up. It was also a really nice way to start off the morning. It wasn’t quite as draining as lifting tends to be, but it was definitely a nice way to start the day. I’m thinking that when I get back to Boston, I should run on my non-lifting days. But I’ll worry about that when I get to Boston.

In other news, I’m really really enjoying my time here in Rhode Island. I’m really sad that tomorrow is my last day. I’ve had such a good time, it’s going to be hard to leave. I’m really getting into the whole lying on the beach doing nothing, thing. I may have to drag my family down to the actual beach more often when I’m next down in South Carolina. I’ve really enjoyed just going down to the beach, sitting, sleeping, reading, and walking up and down the beach. I really don’t want to leave, and if it weren’t for my family reunion, I wouldn’t. But I can’t miss the reunion; that’s just something I can pass up.

Still, it’s been great. Today the DiLello’s took me to see this light house on the coast. It’s seriously out of an old painting, and when I get back to my apartment, I’ll post pictures. It was just really pretty, especially with the sun. Sigh…

This is seriously the life. I’m not stressing about work. I’m not worrying about what I should be doing. I’m just being. God I’ve needed this. Alright, it’s time for bed. Yay sleeping till whenever. Soooo good.

Yay Rhode Island? Hell’s yeah!

July 24th, 2006

Ten years ago, if you had told me I’d be vacationing in Rhode Island, on my own free will, and loving it; I’d have told you that you had lost your mind. Seriously. Rhode Island? Saying you’re going to RI if you’re in Ohio is like saying you’re going to Delaware. But here I am, with Nicole’s Mom and Dad, having an awesome time. The goal every day is to go to the beach and do nothing. This is awesome.

I’ve taken a bunch of pictures, and I plan on taking a lot more as the week goes on. And I’ll eventually get them posted to the site. Oh yeah, I’ve got some software uploaded to the site to do act as my photo gallery. It’ll be pretty sweet.

As is my vacation. Sweeeeeeeeet.

XBLA Is Going to Eat my Money

July 24th, 2006

The Xbox Live Arcade, quite possibly one of the best things to ever come out of Microsoft, is going to slowly bleed money out of me over the next four years. At 10 bucks a shot for mini games that are just sweet and arcade like, this can only lead me down a terrible path. Last night, I bought Cloning Clyde:

The video doesn’t do it justice, but it’s sweet. I’m looking forward to getting back and playing a little of this. So how much was gone? 10 bucks. Well spent.

So what else, well, I’ve been hearing a lot about this game, Small Arms:

And clearly, I’m going to need this, Especially since they’ve been asking for help testing it at MS and keep asking for people with Smash Brothers experience. So once again, I’m out anothe 10 bucks.

Then I saw this:

I have to have this. Nuff said. I’m now out…another 10 bucks. So far, that’s 30 bucks. Then there’s Street Fighter 2, Sonic the Hedgehog and this funky car game. Another 30 bucks. So 60 bucks, in 10 dollar micro-payments, all back to my employer. Well, at least the games are good.

I need a vacation…oh wait

July 21st, 2006

Seriously, I need a vacation. After the past week or two, I am stressed, tired, and just ready to get away from work. Which is exactly what I’m going to be doing. Starting tonight, I’m going to be on vacation for just over a week, and the idea is simply glorious.

So where am I going?

The first stop is the coast of Rhode Island. Nicole’s family has graciously invited me to spend some time with them down on the beach. I’m incredibly excited, as is Nicole. Almost every bit communication, be it phone, IM, face to face, has had some mention of the beach in the past week. We’re looking that forward to getting away.

After that, I’m driving down to North Carolina for my family reunion. This is a yearly event (although not always in NC) that is always a blast. I miss my cousins and I love getting to see them every year. The other awesome part about my reunions is that I’m going to be visiting some people on the way down. I’m planning on stopping in Princeton for the night on the way down, and I’m going to be coming up through Bethesda, MD/DC on the way back up. The stops will be brief, but it will be nice to see some of my friends.

Oh man. I’m almost there. I just have get through today at work, and I am free for 11 days. Oh man, It’s gonna be sweet. Simply sweet.
