Where Did This Weekend Go?

April 3rd, 2006

It’s been a pretty relaxing weekend. I haven’t done much beyond eat, sleep, and watch tv. Seriously. It’s been pretty nice. Very different from last weekend that was spent being active and running about all the time.

Friday was a pretty chill. I met Dan for dinner in Cambridge at the CBC. I like grabbing dinner (it was the second time I’ve done that this week), we talk about all kinds of stuff, with a good bit of reminiscing about our Princeton days. After dinner, we headed back to my place and just hung out. We played guitar (well, I played bass) and then spent a couple of hours playing old school games on my emulators. It was a pretty chill evening.

Saturday literally didn’t start till 2 in the afternoon. And it really didn’t do much starting till around 5:20. I spent the entire afternoon watching Bleach after I took a shower. I hadn’t taken an afternoon to just watch anime in a long time, and it was really nice to do it again. At 5:30, I headed over to Dan’s to watch the Final Four games. I will say that they were a bit disappointing this year. Two back to back blowouts really isn’t much fun to watch. But Kratville and Celeste came over as well, and it was good to hang out with them.

Today started in much the same way. Now this wasn’t totally my fault. Last night, instead of setting my watch forward, I set it backwards. So this morning, when I woke up and saw 9:48 on my watch, I thought, “ooh, I can sleep for another hour or two and be up by noon.” Unfortunately, it was actually 11:48. So yeah, I didn’t get up again till about 1:45. And just like yesterday, I showered, ate, and watched anime till 6. Then it was off to nap for two hours. I did, however, get some stuff done. I cleaned my apartment. (Big surprise there) Clearly, I needed rest.

Yeah, I think this weekend was exactly what needed to happen. I needed something to balance out the insanity that was last weekend. Hopefully, next weekend will be a bit more balanced. I’m not holding out, but hey, you never know.
