I’m Still Alive, I Swear

March 9th, 2004

I've been busy. Really busy. Like, I don't have time to blog busy (well, I do have time, I've just been..wait…). So yeah, I will get around to talking about what's going on once Mid-terms are over.

One Last Time for the Jungle

March 2nd, 2004

This pas weekend was definetly interesting. It wasn't as hectic as the previous, which was good, but it was definetly one to remember.

Most of the weekend was rather chill. Friday Steve came down to talk about his website, and after that, it was a basketball game. It wasn't anything special for me, at least, on Friday night. Since Brad was off in Redmond, Dave and I were going to be making special guest appearences as conductor. His turn was Friday, and it was fun to watch Dave have to conduct again. Otherwise, it wasn't anything all that wonderful, we trounced Columbia and yeah.

Saterday, after a good deal of work, was my turn to be guest conductor. What I hadn't realized until I was just down to Jadwin was that it would be my last men's home Basketball game. It was Senior night, and there was going to be a special opening for the lone senior, Ed Persia, as well as recognition for the Cheerleader and Band Seniors at half-time.

Originally, I wasn't sure how I felt about having my last men's basketball game be spent conducting. I had always imagined myself playing drums one last time, leaving as I had started. But, I was actually glad I got to conduct that day, I felt it fitting in a way that I would get to have my last game be as more than when I came in, kind of going out on top if you will.

Senior night was awesome. The band sounded awesome, better then they did when I was conducting in the fall; the team smashed Cornel into oblivion, and I had the oppertunity to lead one final post game show. I also took the time to just lie on the court for a bit after the show, looking up at the ceiling, taking it all in.

It's a sad reminder that my time here is almost over. I've had a lot of good memories here, many in that gymnasium. I think that's why I'm so glad things worked out the way they did.

The past couple of days have been rather chill. I've spent my time working. That's about it. Haven't worked much on other stuff, although I did take some time to play my guitar Sunday. But yeah, this next week should be fun, if I make it through that and mid-terms, I'm golden. Alright, time for bed. Night all.
