NCAA Tourny Day One Thoughts (late post)

March 20th, 2004

This is from the 17th of Marth and are my reflections on te first day of the trip:

Sigh…I'm really tired. It's been a long day. Shoot, it's been a long couple of weeks. <stop> Ok, so I was going to talk about the past couple of weeks and then what's up now, but well, something has come up.

Ok, so right now, it's 1:12 mountain standard time, and I am in Denver, Colorado for the NCAA basketball tournement. That's right, Princeton has made it to the NCAA Basketball tournement and we're here to play the University of Texas (Austin) in our first round game. It's pretty exciting; I haven't been to a tournement game since my freshman year when we went to New Orleans.

So yeah, today we flew out to Denver. Sigh. I hate flying. Let me repeat this, I REALLY HATE FLYING. The entire begining of my day was ruined by the fact that I had to start the day by flying. I have also found that flying with the band is not something I enjoy all that much. Essentially, the things about peple that sometimes get on my nerves are accentuated by being on a plane. Sigh…

Anyway, so yeah, travelling was annoying. It didn't help that the some of the band officers decided to treat the band like a bunch of childrens who can't handle being in an airport. I mean, I understand that I'm only 22 years old and that I have to fly home by myself, but really. The funny thing is, I'm not the only person who felt this way. What was better was that some of the people were officers. *Shrugs*

So anyway, the reason that I'm stopping what I was going to talk about is because I was just recently told what our return flight is supposed to be. Apperently, the guy in charge of booking flights for Princeton Athletics deicded that, if we lose tomorrow, that we (the team, cheerleaders, and the band) will be flying back to New Jersey, correction, JFK, at 11:00 PM mountain time. Now, a lot of people were apperently upset when they found out. Personally, I just started to laugh. This entire idea is so incredibly dumb, I coudln't help but laugh. I'm not even going to bother trying to discuss why this will be 99.3 % impossible. Needless to say, this is really really dumb.

So yeah, fun times here in the west. Ha…..ha…..sigh….I'm not quite ready to go home, but I'm definetly a little worn down by today. Things will be better on a lot more sleep Yeah, that's all I need, is a litle bit of sleep. Night all.
