New IPod

February 26th, 2004

Yay!!! I got my iPod replaced today, and it didn't cost me a cent. Best Buy was particularly cool about the whole thing, they just put my new iPod (named Moonlight) under my latest warrenty since I got it just over 30 days ago. Very sweet, hopefully this will last longer than the last.

In other news, it should be a fun weekend. I'm going to be meeting with Steve to talk about his website, and on Saterday, I'm going to be making a guest conducting appearence since Brad (the current conductor) is off interviewing with Microsoft. That should be…fun. I didn't really want to conduct, but since Dave (the conductor before me) can't make it on Saterday, there is little choice.

Of course, this is going to be between all kinds of work and stuff. Which will be extra fun. Anyway, that's that. Class is good. Um yeah…Not much else to say, talk to ya's later.

Stupid Piece of Apple Crap

February 25th, 2004

So my second iPod is now officially, dead. Fan-frickin'-tastic. I mean, yeah i dropped it, but I dropped my 10 gig all the damn time, and it survived without fricken dying. One drop and this thing stops working? Do they not test these damn things. Bah, this is just poor design, especially in the wake of the older version. I want my old 10 gig back. Oh well, fortunatly I have my best buy warrenty and all of this headache is going to go away.

Meet The Parents

February 23rd, 2004

So this weekend has been a lot of fun. Well, Friday and Saterday at least. My parents were in town for parents weekend so Nicole and I spent most of our time with them. This was fun because it was Nicole's first chance to actually meet my parents. Fortunatly, things did not turn out like Meet the Parents, so things are good.

Most of the weekend was spent hanging around. My parents went to both of the basketball games this weekend (along with my aunt and uncle on saterday), saw Colin Powell, and went with Nicole and me to the juggling club show. Mind you one of the basketball games wasn't planned (I got a last second call saying the band was in dire need of my attendence Saterday night), but it was still fun.

I got the impression from my family that they liked Nicole, which is good. I want my parents to like her, I think she's wonderful, so it's natural that I would want them to think the same way about her.

So other than that, it's been work, but that's nothing new. Hopefully this week I will get a lot of it done (next weekend will be the first quiet one in a while). So that's that, I'm hoping for a more relaxed week (I need one). And yeah. Night all.

I am so out of shape

February 19th, 2004

So we played a game of band basketball today and I have determined I am really out of shape. Like completely. I'm so out of shape it's disgusting. I almost, but not quite, want to vomit. I really need to start working out, I'm just being lazy. I'm feeling that friday might be a good time to get back into it.

It's sad, because I was very much into working out for most of last year. Shoot, I did it religiously while I was in Seattle, but now, I just don't do it. Beyond skiing, my level of physical activity has declined. I haven't lifted in months. I still go out and dance and such, so I'm not a complete slug, and I've started doing crunches and push-ups again, but it's still not the same.

One of the problems is that it's really had to work out here at Princeton. There is so much work to be done all the time, that unless you are crazy about it, you don't work out. It's really tough to get up in the mornings (the only time I can work out around here), and for some reason, I just don't feel as good leaving dillion gym as I did leaving the Pro Club. I know I'm not the only one who thinks this, I was talking to a footall player a few days ago about it. There's just something about being here that makes working out very difficult.

In other news, I've started work on Mixed Modes again. It's going to be my technology based site. It's coming along slowly, but it should be up in a month or so. Maybe sooner, depending on how work is going and what kind of flow I get into.

Alright, I need to sleep, I have a lot to do tomorrow (it's parents weekend); like clean my room. Peace.

Valentine’s Day, Blogging Insights, and New Realizations

February 17th, 2004

Man o man, it’s been a while since I’ve written. I let it go too long. I think this is the problem with spending late evenings with people and then crashing, I am too tired to blog. Anyway, on to more important topics.

Firstly, this past weekend was a lot of fun. Saterday was Valentine’s day, and since I am dating a beautiful, and wonderful woman, it was good. This actually surprised me a bit, I’m not really that big a fan of valentine’s day; years of being very unpopular at home led to me just not liking the day. Needless to say, Saterday was good. Spent the evening first at Starbucks, then picked up a bottle of wine and some movies (with a $20 I found on the pavement), ordered Chinese and had a very chill night together. I know it’s not the uber-romantic thing to do, but it was what we wanted.

Sunday was good, as well. Nicole’s parents came down to celebrate her birthday, and so we spent a pleasant afternoon eating and talking, and just being social. It was very relaxing. I like Nicole’s parents; they’re really a lot of fun to hang out with. I hope they like me; that would definitely make things nice. Emily’s father didn’t like me, and that made things a bit uncomfortable.

So that was my weekend, well, that and graphics. That’s been fun, but it’s over. At least for a couple of weeks, and by a couple of weeks, I mean a couple of days. Oh well. My other classes are good, I really enjoy them. I like this idea; finishing my career at Princeton in classes that I really like.

So on to the not day-to-day. I was sitting in Technology and the Law, today, and I came to the realization that this site really is more of a personal site, and that while I have a lot of things pertaining to technology and such that I want to rattle on about, this isn’t really the best forum to do so. So, I think I’m going to get to work on making mixed modes something useful. At least a site to be uber dorky on. *nods*

Ok, yeah, that’s what I have to say for now. Not as much as I thought, but I’ve been distracted by all the flashing lights. Lata.
