Things are good. Yes, yes they are. Getting the extension on the Artificial Intelligence homework helped a great deal. It’s nice to know that I’ll have a reasonable time with work.
Yeah, it’s amazing how much not having a gun to the head can really make things work. So things have been going pretty well. I have an independent work topic AND an advisor. What’s even cooler is that my advisor is Professor Kernighan, whom I’ve wanted to do independent work with for a long time. I’m excited. This should be a really awesome project.
I’m also enjoying my last few months as conductor. Doing football games is interesting. Although it’s easy to get side tracked. I guess because the team isn’t doing all that well right now. Hopefully, things will pick up. The band is sounding better, definitely getting the improvement vibe. *nods*
So yeah, everything is currently in a state of good. *nods* Later all.

The right decisions are never easy. They usually suck to make. Often, they live you feeling bad. But that is life. I made the right decision. I know I did. I'm proud of myself for doing it. Sigh…
Anyway, life is pretty good. I have a crap-ton of work to do. I'll get it done. It'll just suck till it's finished. Anyway, later all.
Life and Times
Well, this has been an interesting week. Done a lot of work, and done a lot of non-work. All of it has been good. Have a few things to take care of tomorrow. Otherwise, life is pretty good.
I’ve spent a lot of it watching the baseball games. I haven’t watched a lot of baseball in the past few years. I grew tired of it, I guess. With the strike and the actions of the Cincinnati Reds organization, it’s easy to see why. Although, I have enjoyed watching these playoffs. Especially watching the Cubs play. Actually, I enjoy watching the Cubs Fans even more.
Today was a fun day. The CS department had it’s Industrial Affiliates Luncheon. This was fun because Microsoft was there. I went only because I knew the Microsoft recruiter and wanted just to show support. Turns out I really didn’t need to worry about that. The Microsoft presentation was so far beyond the others, everyone ended up feeling sorry for the non-Microsofties.
What happened? Well, at first the various non-Microsoft companies were just having a hiring manager talk. Rather boring. Most didn’t even really make eye contact. Then in comes the Microsoft crew. I mean crew, there was Colleen the recruiter and four Princeton alums who now work for MS. All of them talked about the work, as well as what the area was like. This went over much better than the companies who only talked about work and academic research.
The saddest thing was after the Luncheon. The Microsoft people had a crap-ton of people around them. It was also cool because a lot of the MS Interns made appearances. I get the feeling that MS raked in a lot of interested people.
So yeah, that was the big thing of the week. Life is generally going well. Staying strong. Watching baseball, and getting work done. Yeah…pretty normal. shrugs

I just saw the most amazing play. 12th Inning, bases loaded, 2 outs. And a big hitter for the A's gets up and lays down a bunt winning the game. In-fricken-credible.

Sigh…I am a natural disaster. It follows me everywhere. I don't try to cause such issues. It just happens. Sigh….why me?
It's been one of those days. Good parts, not so good parts, and parts that remind me there's a long way to go. Oh well. I have a lot of work this week. Nothing I can't handle, jsut a crap ton of work. *nods* Should prove to be fun.
